Seventy-five percent of students to attend Top-50 schools, with $1.4 Million dollars awarded in scholarships/financial aid. Volunteer mentoring organization achieves a 100% college acceptance rate for underserved, low-income students.
LOS ANGELES – MAY 21, 2023: The Minds Matter Southern California Class of 2023 is headed to college – and that includes all its students as the volunteer-driven college success organization, focused on closing the educational gap for low-income students of color, achieved a 100% college acceptance rate for the 11th consecutive year as a result of its in-depth three-year tutoring and mentoring program.
Seventy-five percent of their 2023 class will be attending the Top 50 Schools, ranked by US News, including Stanford, Johns Hopkins, Columbia University, UC Berkeley, Washington University, UCLA, USC, UCSD, Barnard, and Middlebury.
“The focus of our program is two-fold. One, to help our students get into the best school that fits them best, and two – to help them pay for college. Our students come from low-income backgrounds. It is imperative we guide them and their families through the college process as well as the financial aid and scholarship process. We don’t want them burdened with debt. We want them to soar after college.”
Tina Admans, Co-Founder and President of Minds Matter Southern California
