Minds Matter Southern California is growing—and we’re thrilled to welcome Kira Magruder as our new Senior Development Manager.
Kira joins Minds Matter SoCal with a relationship‑driven approach and a deep commitment to strengthening the communities that support young people. From the moment you meet her, it’s clear she leads with warmth, curiosity, and a genuine belief in what students can achieve when they are surrounded by trust and opportunity.
Kira’s role will be essential to our growth strategy as we expand to a full seven‑year program, supporting students from their sophomore year of high school through college graduation. She will help build and sustain the partnerships, resources, and community support that enable this long‑term commitment. Her thoughtful, collaborative style and her passion for creating strong school‑community connections align closely with the mission and culture we continue to build.
In her role as Senior Development Manager, Kira will advance our development efforts by cultivating meaningful relationships, engaging supporters, and championing the work our students and volunteers do every day. Her ability to connect people to purpose will play a key part in ensuring our students have the consistent support they need throughout their seven‑year journey.
Outside of work, Kira enjoys writing, exploring new foods, spending time with family and friends, and embracing the outdoors. She also brings a playful spirit to the team—she’s known to carry fruit snacks, appreciates a good corny joke, and often has a dinosaur toy on hand thanks to her son.
